Providence Health & Services Nursing Assistant Program Director/Instructor in Chewelah, Washington


Providence is calling a Nursing Assistant Program Director/Instructor (Educational Services , Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chewelah, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Contribute to developing and maintaining departmental performance improvement program in accordance with organizational guidelines and compliance with all laws.

  • Provide leadership and over site of Nursing Assistant Program and Medication Administration Program.

  • Provide leadership and direction in setting program vision and meeting goals as a team, utilizing “systems thinking” to identify and develop solutions to problems.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing

  • WA State approved “Train the Trainer Certificate of Completion”

  • Current Washington State Licensure as a Registered Nurse

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor

  • 3 years of experience as an RN, of which at least 1 year is in direct patient care

  • At least 1 year within the last 3 years in caring for the elderly, chronically ill, or both

  • Experience in adult learning theory and instruction. Inservice education and patient teaching experience may be in addition, but not only adult education experiences

  • Previous teaching experience including development of curriculum and class syllabus

  • Basic computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field

  • Experience in managing personnel and multiple diverse programs
