Providence Health & Services Manager – Labor and Delivery in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Manager – Labor and Delivery to Providence Health & Services in Olympia, WA.
We are seeking a Manager – Labor and Delivery to be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and operations for the assigned areas of responsibility.
In this position you will:
Collaborate with preceptors to ensure the appropriate orientation of nursing staff, including initial competencies, orientation plan, and evaluation of orientation outcomes.
Maintain systems to ensure tracking and record- keeping of staff education and demonstration of competence.
Maintain staffing patterns and levels which facilitates staff being able to utilize continuing education opportunities.
Serve as primary consultant to nursing staff on daily clinical and operational issues.
Complete initial review and response to incident reports and complaints, institutes immediate intervention as needed and collaborates with Director in the investigation process.
Assure timely review of performance on responsible employees within assigned area is completed, and assists Director in evaluating and improving department activities.
In the absence of the Director / Vice President, represent areas of assigned responsibility and participate in discussions on planning with hospital, medical staff, and committees within the WA/MT Region, PH&S System, and other outside entities.
Hire and assure adequate orientation and training, for qualified staff, through approved hospital systems.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
Valid applicable license in the State of Washington.
Three years clinical experience in Labor and Delivery or one year of Manager level experience in the area of assigned responsibility. Supervisory experience at Charge Nurse level or above.
MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master’s degree in relevant field, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Business, or Healthcare Administration.
