Providence Health & Services Team Assistant in Seaside, Oregon


Providence is calling a Team Assistant to Providence Seaside Hospital in Gerhart, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Process and manage the health information records and data for a designated clinical team within Home Services.

  • Accurately gather, enter, compile, review for completeness and accuracy, and problem solve patient information in the appropriate Providence Home Services information system(s) and in the clinical record.

  • Communicate in a professional manner with public and staff.

  • Perform all duties in a manner which promotes team concept, caring and respect. which reflects the philosophy of the Sisters of Providence Home Services Division and the Sisters of Providence Mission.

  • Uphold the standards of confidentiality, attendance, and punctuality.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Educational course work in medical terminology or equivalent knowledge acquired through on-the-job experience

  • 1 year of recent experience with multiple computerized applications required, electronic health record or business school level training and experience

  • 1 year of recent experience in a team setting

  • 2 years of recent experience as a unit secretary, clinical technician, medical office assistant or health information management

  • In compliance with the Providence Health & Services-OR Human Resources policy #302 Background Checks, a criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience with Excel and Word

  • 1-2 years of college course work and/or formal business or medical training

  • Experience in a Home Services agency, medical terminology and ICD 9 coding or equivalent knowledge
