Providence Clinical Support Technician I - ASU in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Clinical Support Technician I (Ambulatory Services Unit, Variables, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Scan all appropriate documents into the electronic medical record within 12 hours of receipt.
Follow defined process to ensure paper medical records are routed correctly to HIM to be scanned into the electronic medical record.
Assist providers with computerized provider order management (CPOM) and other aspects of the electronic medical record (EMR).
Perform charge reconciliation (i.e. correct room charge for patient accommodation).
Monitor orders entered electronically to help communicate orders to the correct departments as needed (i.e. echo, EKG, etc.).
Assist in scheduling treatments and tests. Assist staff by printing specimen labels prior to staff entering room and prior to specimen being obtained.
Establish and maintain daily communication with team and other departments.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school graduate or GED
Completion of a Medical Terminology course within 90 days of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Coursework/Training in Pharmacology
Coursework/Training in satisfactory completion of Health Unit Coordinator training
6 months experience in health care activities or institutional setting
Certification by the National Association of Health Unit Coordinators
