Providence Health & Services Clinical Support Technician I - NICU *On call* in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Clinical Support Technician I (Neonatal Intensive Care, Variable, 0.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Accurately transcribe orders for patient plan of care. Performs computer order entry, transcribes and recopies MAR's, and updates Kardex. Assists in scheduling treatments.
Accurately maintain patient chart and unit records according to procedure.
Establish and maintain daily communication with team and other departments. Recognizes and maintains patient confidentiality issues. Facilitates inter-department communication regarding transfers, admits and discharges.
Maintain and operate multiple telecommunication systems. Understands the process for downtime slips.
Assist in orientation/teaching other hospital employees.
May assist with the ordering of unit and patient care supplies (i.e., I-meds, IV poles, forms and paper supplies, rental supplies). Processes and follows up on work order requests for any unit repairs.
Maintain and clean department equipment used for care. Sends soiled equipment for sterile processing.
Maintain and clean equipment. Maintains and cleans work areas.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school graduate or GED
Completion of a Medical Terminology course within 90 days of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Satisfactory completion of Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) training
Certification by the National Association of Health Unit Coordinators
6 months experience in health care activities or institutional setting
Experience with supply stocking, ordering, equipment cleaning, and basic equipment maintenance
