Providence Development Officer Institute for Human Caring in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Development Officer Institute for Human Caring to our location in Gardena, CA or within the Providence locations footprint.
We are seeking a Development Officer Institute for Human Caring who will personally build and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, working to maximize their philanthropic commitments to the Institute for Human Caring through effective cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies. Develops cases for support and executes a comprehensive fundraising program to advance the strategic vision and build brand awareness of the Institute of Human Caring. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Plan, organize, coordinate and direct fundraising efforts that focus on gifts of $25,000 and more from individuals, businesses, and foundations.
Communicate with portfolio prospects through face-to-face cultivation, solicitation and stewardship meetings, as well as written strategies; ensure that each major donor and prospect has a clear strategy and timeline for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship utilizing a moves management protocol which includes tracking in the donor database.
Create cases for support and customized solicitation strategies based on strategic objectives of organization and interest of donors.
Initiate, maintain and grow donor relationships to maximize their long-term value and benefit to the Institute for Human Caring and PSJH.
Effectively coordinate the overall relationship management with donors.
Develop and revise, as appropriate, “case statements” for major gifts initiatives.
In conjunction with the System Chief Philanthropy Officer establishes a personal annual fundraising goal.
Conducts research on potential individual, business and foundation funders.
Works with other staff within the PSJH Foundations and leadership in the Institute for Human Caring on cultivating annual, major, and planned giving prospects and maintains appropriate personal relationships with current and potential donors in order to foster the purpose and the goals of the Institute.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, etc.
5 years experience in major gift fundraising ($25,000 ).
8 years total related experience working in foundations. Experience may include working in operations or fundraising areas.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
3 years experience in developing and/or writing grants for funding opportunities. Understanding of grants and foundation funders and their processes.
Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) within 1 year of hire.
