Providence Health & Services Laboratory Resource Analyst Supply and Staffing in Anchorage, Alaska

Description:

Providence is calling a Laboratory Resource Analyst Supply and Staffing (Lab Administration, Day Shift, 0.9 FTE - 36 hours per week) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position, you will:

  • SCHEDULING AND TEAMWORK: Uses independent judgment to create and communicate complex master schedule for laboratory staff. Implements and modifies an effective program to monitor, evaluate and improve productivity, quality and appropriateness of staffing throughout laboratory. Takes call to manage staffing levels.

  • MONITORS DAILY OPERATIONS: Develops, implements and modifies programs and services needed to meet patient care and staff development needs. Provides customer service by being communications link for intra and interdepartmental communications and work relations. Communicates need to Lab Administration. Makes sure supplies are available to perform daily tasks.

  • PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT & IMPLEMENTATION: As an integral team player, successfully develops, implements and modifies innovative programs that advances the goals and objectives of laboratory resources. Plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates projects to meet PAMC laboratory needs. Actively participates in quality improvement.

  • FINANCIAL RESOURCE STEWARDSHIP: Meets goals and budgets. Collects, analyzes and evaluates data that enables laboratory management to plan and manage costs by responding to changing budget and resources requirements.

  • HUMAN RESOURCE STEWARDSHIP: Creates a work environment in which each team member can become more productive and personally satisfied. Works collaboratively with laboratory management to actively recruit, select, plan and coordinate orientation/training to assure clinical competencies are maintained. Maintains master position control documentation and is central to the management of open positions. Is liaison to human resources for any issue regarding position control. Responsible for Kronos completion and activity reporting.

  • LEADERSHIP: Interpret and implement organization goals and objectives; motivate and influence others toward this end. Identifies staff development needs and enhances related career skills and education. Promotes active involvement and partnering of physician and community representatives. Collaborates with leaders from management, medical staff, and clinical areas in decision-making processes and structures. Is liaison to community planned activities such as PSA Clinic and Alaska Women’s Heart Advantage, and Iditarod dog testing.

  • REGULATORY COMPLIANCE: Provides on-going support/monitoring to meet and assure compliance of JCAHO, OSHA, HCFA, and PAMC standards.

  • HUMAN LIAISON: Collaborates with laboratory management to receive, review, and coordinate application, and selection for interviews. Acts as liaison between HR and lab management for recruitment and retention.

  • SUPPLY/INVENTORY: Problem solves issues relating to laboratory supplies and inventory levels. Maintains cost effective levels of laboratory supply inventory while ensuring product availability by reviewing inventory levels and usage patterns routinely. Establishes par levels and min/max reorder points. Orders, receives and stores supplies in designated areas. Ensures that supply storage is orderly, well organized and easily retrievable. Rotates inventory supplies based upon expiration dates and lot numbers.

  • SUPPLY MANAGEMENT: Works with laboratory management to achieve appropriate product standardization. Serves as the liaison with other hospitals for laboratory supply exchanges.

  • Laboratory staffing scheduling and supply experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree or will consider applicant if greater than 10 years of applicable experience
