Providence Quality Data Analyst - St. Elias in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Quality Data Analyst (Performance Improvement, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) at St Elias Specialty Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Provides advanced analytical support for quality, clinical and quality operations improvement activities. This includes summarizing information into charts, tables, and figures to convey the meaning of the data to customers and decision-makers.
Organizes, prepares, and distributes complex quality, patient safety, clinical and quality operational reports utilizing multiple data systems. This may include Epic, Datix, CDW, Callisto, or others.
Leading new strategic data-related projects, strategic initiatives, and other high level projects. Uses quality improvement methodology knowledge and data analysis expertise to inform improvement initiatives. Provides consultative services and recommendations to leadership on work process or initiatives.
May support specific content areas, such as Quality Improvement, Infection Prevention, Patient Safety, Medical Staff Services, Nursing Quality, etc. Develops relationships with individuals in these areas and continue to learn more about their operations.
Provides in-depth specialized skills in areas such as: statistical analyses, programming and technical data management skills, healthcare information, or database development.
Utilizes programming skills, such as SQL, VB/VBA, or other programming languages. Uses these skills in optimizing reports or conducting statistical analyses.
Develops and provides support for relational databases, including reporting, design, and data management.
Maintains clear documentation on reports and other outputs to keep inclusion and exclusion criteria explicit for those interpreting the data. This includes Stadard Work and Standard Operating Procedure.
Communicates with Sr. Analyst and/or Sr. Manager regarding prioritization of projects and completion of requests on deadline.
Participates in research study and quality project design in a collaborative relationship with investigators, management, and staff.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, Computer Science, Biological Science, Mathematics, Nursing, or related field or 4 years of data analysis experience
1 year experience in health care environment
2 years experience creating and manipulating databases for research and quality improvement project requests
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, Program Management, or related field
1 year demonstrated experience with programming languages, such as Visual Basic, SQL, SAS, SPSS or other technical skill sets
About St. Elias Specialty Hospital:
St. Elias Specialty Hospital is owned by Providence Health System. The hospital has 59 beds, almost all private rooms. The facility features state of the art equipment to provide extended inpatient acute care for patients.
At St. Elias Specialty Hospital, we provide customized, physician-driven services for patients requiring longer stays in an acute care environment due to multiple or complex medical conditions. We are not a permanent placement for patients; rather we are an answer for many patients who are acutely ill and need to take the first steps towards rehabilitation or home.
