Providence is calling a Radiation Therapist (Radiation Oncology, Day Shift, 1 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Deliver the prescribed planned course of radiation therapy.
Observe patients for unusual reactions and recognizes signs and symptoms of developing complications during treatment. Report/consult findings to appropriate staff
Maintain department records of daily treatment. Review charts regularly for accuracy.
Responsibility for daily warm-up procedures for treatment equipment.
Report any erratic operation of equipment, related to patient/personnel safety.
Observe radiation safety measures and report any discrepancy that does not meet N.R.C. regulations.
Perform basic calculations for emergency treatments.
Responsible for maintaining proficiency in technical areas.
Maintain and secure supplies for treatment area.
Collect data and participates in quality assessment program.
Complete initial and annual Competency Plan for assigned job and department.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of approved Radiation Therapy program.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
A.R.R.T. or Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T).
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- 1 year experience as a Radiation Therapist.
