Providence Health & Services Infection Preventionist - 0.7 Day in Centralia, Washington
Providence is calling an Infection Preventionist (0.7 FTE, Day Shift) to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
We are seeking an Infection Preventionist that performs ongoing and systematic assessments for infection control issues by making regular unit rounds, reviewing microbiological, clinical, and other data based on a surveillance program with established and approved criteria.
In this position you will:
Provide infection prevention and control education to staff through new employee orientation, annual updates, special programs and courses based on organizational needs. Serves as liaison to staff for best practices, problem solving and crisis management related to infection prevention and control.
Perform clinical reviews, using epidemiological methods.
Support risk management specialist and Quality Services staff to identify and resolve risk issues and sentinel events related to infection control.
Review infection control policies and procedures at least every two years, update, and make recommendations to the Infection Control Committee for changes.
Lead organization in readiness activities to maintain compliance with JCAHO standard for Surveillance, Infection Prevention and Control.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing , Microbiology, Epidemiology, or other related field
If a Registered Nurse, current Washington State Licensure as a Registered Nurse
Current Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) or within two years of hire
Three years of experience in a hospital or relevant healthcare setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
· Master’s Degree in nursing or related healthcare field
