Providence Phlebotomy Area Supervisor *$5,000 Hiring Bonus* in Eureka, California


$5,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.

This position is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the efficient and effective operation of the pre-analytical and post-analytical processes of laboratory operations, to include inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy, testing technical support, specimen referrals, and courier services. This position requires receiving RL events and delivering coaching to lab Assistants. This position has approximately 30 direct reports, and reports directly to the Administrative Laboratory Manager and Laboratory Director. Acts as a resource for test problems, physician orders, referral test problems. Investigates and resolves physician or RN concerns and provides feedback to the clinicians. Works as phlebotomist or technical assistant as necessary by operational needs. Ensures sufficient orientation and training for new employees and assesses competency prior to new employees working solo. Maintains workload statistics of patients and phlebotomy draws. Alternating on call duties.

Required qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED

  • 5 years' Experience performing phlebotomy, laboratory support functions & processing

  • 1 year' Laboratory supervisory experience, managing staff performing pre-analytical & post-analytical functions
