Providence Health & Services Health Unit Coordinator (NAC) - Pre Op Post Op Esu *Up to $2,500 Hiring Bonus* in Everett, Washington

Providence is calling a Health Unit Coordinator (NAC) (1.0 FTE, Evening Shift) to work in the Pre Op Post Op Esu at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.

The Health Unit Coordinator (NAC) will be responsible for clerical and receptionist functions for the unit and, when assigned and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides assistance in the safe and effective care of patients in a variety of age groups which is consistent with the provisions of Chapter 246-841 WAC.

$2,500 Hiring Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.

In this position you will:

  • Demonstrate age specific patient care considerations for the population served

  • Demonstrate application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PEMC age specific care competency assessment tool

  • Provide effective patient care

  • Take and record vital signs, height, weight, food and fluid intake and output; recognizes and reports abnormal signs and symptoms; maintains safe environment for patients

  • Provide personal care to assigned patients

  • Bath, dresses, and feeds patients; responds to call lights; assists with communication and reports patients’ concerns; orients to rooms and unit routine

  • Perform computer order management

  • Order labs, x-ray, and other diagnostic procedures; discharges patients; enters charges

  • Perform clerical duties

  • Admit, discharge and transfers patients; assembles charts; copies and faxes information; distributes mail; answers phone; orders forms and supplies; monitors inventory; assembles admit and other patient packets; schedules appointments

  • Work cooperatively with unit and medical center employees

  • Attend and participates in change of shift report; answers phone using script; communicates in a clear, courteous, friendly manner; assists co-workers with duties; participates in staff meetings and training

  • Complete Annual Skill Lab for unit

  • Attach documentation from most recent Annual Skill Lab

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Nursing Assistant Certification in the State of Washington

  • Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) within the first two (2) weeks of hire

Preferred qualification for this position includes:

  • Prior experience as a Unit Coordinator or NAC in an acute care setting
