Providence is calling a Telemetry Technician (Medical/Surgical, Day Shift, 0.9 FTE) to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.

The Telemetry Technician, under the supervision and delegation of the Registered Nurse, has the responsibility for monitoring and reporting the ECG activity of patients on the telemetry unit. The position is an important communication link with the RN regarding changes in cardiac rhythms.
In this position you will:
Observe patients’ rhythms continuously. Inform the RNs of rhythm changes and consistently communicates per established protocols. Identify baseline patient rhythm and interpret dysrhythmias accurately and respond according to protocols. Report significant events and gives a concise summary to oncoming RNs and MTs at change of shift.
Implement the monitor standard settings and alarms on all patients on admission and as directed by the RN in the Centralized Monitoring Unit. Notifies the telemetry RN if the patient is off the monitor. Notifies the telemetry RN for all yellow and red alarms. Stay informed of resuscitation status and keeps track of patients who are off the unit by flagging the central monitor according to unit procedure.
Maintain a log for accurate hand-off to next staff per protocol. Document and measures in the Centralized Monitoring log the following once per shift and when rhythm changes occur: HR, PR interval, QRS, QTC and rhythm interpretation. Observe acute and subtle ST changes at the J Point and communicates these changes to the patient’s RN then documents this change in the Centralized Monitoring log. Follows\ all communication processes per standards.
Assist with smooth operation of department. Maintains Centralized Monitoring Unit supplies and equipment. Assist with training of Monitor Technicians on monitoring system.
Maintain confidentiality of records or medical center information at all times. Confidential information & conversations are secured from general public access. Ensure all faxes and other communications between the RC, the lead node, and the data management centers adhere to federal regulations. Maintains full knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Medical terminology course or experience
Basic ECG course and successful completion of PRMCE ECG test
