Providence Health & Services Therapy Assistant, COTA *1.0 FTE, Days* in Everett, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Therapy Assistant, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work in Physical Therapy Department at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.

In this position you will:

  • Demonstrates application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PEMC age specific care competency assessment tool.

  • Coordination (the working together of all parties involved with the person served).

  • Communication (all modes of exchange of information).

  • Discharge patients / Discontinuation of Services:

  • Refers patient to Therapist every fifth treatment.

  • Refers/reports to Therapist for discharge from service when goals & outcomes have been achieved or

  • Refers/reports to Therapist to discontinue patient from service when:

  • Person served declines intervention

  • Person served is unable to progress toward goals

  • Therapist determines that person served no longer benefits from intervention

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or two (2) year technical program from a program accredited by American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and/or American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) with studies in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) card

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as a Therapy Assistant in adult rehabilitation.
