Providence Health & Services Clinician – Behavioral Health Coordinator in Kodiak, Alaska
Providence is calling a Clinician – Behavioral Health Coordinator (Variable Shift, 1 FTE) at Providence Kodiak Mental Health Center in Kodiak, Alaska.
The Clinician – Behavioral Health Coordinator will provide integrated quality behavioral health and care to children, adolescents and adults in the Kodiak Community Health Center primary care clinic. This position will be integrated into the primary care team on a daily basis.
In this position you will:
Provide brief counseling and short-term interventions based on working knowledge of community-based, integrated behavioral health concepts, practices and theory.
Provide the necessary assessment, treatment and referral for clients. This will include individuals, groups, couples, families, children, adolescents and adults.
Provide and seek clinical, psychiatric and medical consultation.
Responsible for accurate and timely documentation of cases, including intake and discharge records, progress notes, treatment planning, correspondence, client assessments, and referral.
Complete daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports for federal, state and local reporting requirements and including AKAIMS & EPIC reports.
Coordinate treatment planning with KCHC providers and clinical staff and other agencies (ie. schools, juvenile probation, psychologist, community psychiatrist, et al.)
Participate in 24-hour on-call crisis intervention for the PKIMC Emergency Department on a rotating basis.
Determine need for voluntary and involuntary psychiatric hospitalizations and assumes responsibility for the coordination of associated legal procedures.
Act as the Liason between Primary care and community-wide Behavioral Health agencies.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education or other related behavioral health field that will be accepted for licensure listed below
1 year of counseling experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Ability to obtain State of Alaska Professional License within 3 years of hire; State of Alaska license OR license in another state, which will allow for Alaska “licensure by credentialing” in a behavioral health field, ex: LCSW, (Licensed Clinical Social Worker); LMFT, (Licensed Marital and Family Therapist); or LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor); License transfer must be completed within 2 years of hire
Substance Abuse Professional Certification (e.g. CDC I or II, National Master Addiction Counselor) within 1 year of hire
1 year in primary care with working knowledge of concepts, practices and theory
Proficiency with a variety of computer software applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) such as EPIC
