Providence Manager - Business Operations - Mental Health Center in Kodiak, Alaska
Providence is calling a Manager Business Operations (Comm Serv Program, Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Kodiak Mental Health Center in Kodiak, Alaska. In this position you will:
Responsible for directing and overseeing day to day business operation of billing for accuracy and timeliness of documentation and revenue cycle. Serves as the liaison between Mental Health Center and region financial services department in all aspects of patient billing, coding, accounting and reimbursement activities. Provides oversight of workflows that impact billing and registration. Establishes written procedures and workflows for sustained improved processes. Compiles program utilization and financial statistics for the purposes of monitoring, analyzing and reporting data trends and forecasts to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives. Assists Center Director with insurance and clinical service contracts.
Participate in the development and monitoring of annual budget performance in accordance with Providence and State of Alaska Fiscal reporting cycles. Assist the Center Director with internal grant oversight as directed. Provides data for quarterly grant reporting, monthly entity performance reporting and assists in departmental planning including operational goals and objectives. Coordinates with the Center Director in providing internal controls for financial areas and participates in review of processes in accounting to strengthen quality controls.
Participate in interviewing for new hires and provides input for employee performance evaluations, counseling, disciplining, compliance and other personnel matters necessary for department operations.
Assist with team support staff functions on a daily basis and collaborates to ensure team success. Establishes and maintains daily communication with team and facilitates interdepartmental and external entity communications regarding admissions and discharges. Demonstrates professional interpersonal skills in communications with patients and others. Anticipates and prioritizes workflow to assist supervisors in preventing delays and meet workflow demands. Recognizes error/problems and takes corrective action with input of Center Director as needed. Assists the Center Director with reviewing and responding to incoming communications regarding medical records, legal inquiries, and risk management activities.
Oversee development of the work schedules in the business office to assure proper staffing and work allocation at all times. Assists in arranging for coverage for all scheduled and unscheduled absences. Oversees data entry for accurate completion of payroll activities.
Assist in the development of the core training and competency program for all new staff and providing ongoing training and cross training of present personnel.
Establish, implement and ensure that revenue cycle policies, procedures and practices are in accordance with Providence region policies, National Accreditation entity, and State and Federal regulations.
Perform management activities in the absence of the Center Director.
Demonstrate professional skill in working with departmental staff, PH and S, clients, consultants, and co-workers.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Two (2) years of experience in business operations at the management level with fiscal and direct supervisory responsibilities
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, accounting or other related field
