Providence Mental Health Rehabilitation Aide in Kodiak, Alaska

Description:

Providence is calling a Mental Health Rehabilitation Aide (Comm Support Program, Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Kodiak Alaska Mental Health Center in Kodiak, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Develop a mutual and reciprocal relationship with individual clients based upon respect for the uniqueness of each individual. Provides a structured environment and maintains therapeutic rapport.

  • Work closely with the CSP Case Managers and Rehabilitation Technician to implement specific interventions as outlined in the rehabilitation plan. These interventions include, but are not limited to: teaching the client basic living skills of personal hygiene, menu planning, grocery shopping, laundering, cleaning, dressing appropriately, medication compliance, and pre-vocational and job coaching skills.

  • Coordinate and participate in recreational outings, structured social activities, and creative activities. Provides milieu management of the CSP day room and recreation area.

  • Actively participate in team approach to client care. Establishes positive working relationships and role models healthy communication skills.

  • Provide a reliable communication link to the CSP Team regarding clients, making ongoing observations of client behavior, monitoring client progress towards established goals, and assisting with crisis management. Actively participates in case review with the CSP Team to assure continuity of care. Modifies interventions at the direction of the CSP Team.

  • Document interventions and activities related to client’s treatment plan in accordance with state regulations and Center policy. Participates in continuous quality improvement process when requested.

  • Comply with all Center policies and procedures.

  • May perform filing and other clerical tasks as needed.

  • Provide client transportation utilizing Center vehicles as required.

  • Complete Competency Plan for assigned job and department.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED

  • Associate's Degree or Relevant certification in a social services field.

  • Basic Life Support or the ability to attain certification within ninety (90) days of date of hire.

  • Current Alaska driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance.
