Providence Health & Services Chemical Dependency Counselor in Lacey, Washington
Providence is calling a Chemical Dependency Counselor (1.0 FTE, Variable) to the St. Peter Chemical Dependency Center in Lacey, WA.
We are seeking a Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP) to provide counseling to chemically dependent patients and their families.
In this position you will:
Develop a biopsychosocial assessment, create a treatment plan, and counsel patients in a behavioral health setting.
Maintain a positive therapeutic relationship with each patient while maintaining patient and staff boundaries.
Use open and clear communication with patients, family members, and multidisciplinary medical professionals while maintaining patient and employer confidentiality.
Demonstrate critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current Chemical Dependency Professional (CDP) license in Washington State
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Current Washington State Driver's License
Two (2) years of experience with persons with the primary problem of chemical dependency
Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English
Effective communication skills
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling or related field
Experience working with dual diagnosis patients
