Providence Clinic Coordinator (Medical Assistant) - Neurology in Medford, Oregon


Providence is calling a Clinic Coordinator (Medical Assistant and Administrative role) to its Neurology Clinic in Medford, OR. This is a full-time position working 8a-5p, Monday-Friday.

We are seeking a Clinic Coordinator that will coordinate the day to day operations of the clinic. Schedule patient appointments, assist with patient and physician billing, guides patients through registration process, room patients, perform vital signs, and other medical assisting tasks and act as a liaison between physician, physician office staff, ancillary departments, and Physician Services and Development.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Greet and register patients, updates demographic and insurance information. Collect co-payments and payments as determined by individual office requirements.

  • Provide compassionate care and excellent customer service while managing the work flow between patients and providers.

  • Maintain and schedule patient appointments for providers. Perform new patient intake.

  • Request and manage referrals and prior authorizations and verify patient benefits.


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • HS diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent educ/experience

  • 1 year customer service experience

  • Must have current AHA-BLS (Basic Life Support) for the Healthcare Provider.

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Some college

  • 3 years medical office or health care experience

  • Basic experience with electronic medical records and/or computerized billing systems

  • Medical terminology experience

  • 6 monthsrecent experience working as a Medical Assistant

  • Certification through a nationally recognized Medical Assistant program such as AAMA, AMT (RMA) or NCCT
