We are seeking a Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Home Health Services that will be under the supervision of the occupational therapist, will provide skilled occupational therapy to patients/clients with a wide variety of diagnoses and disabilities in a home setting in accordance with a physicians plan of treatment, taking into account individual patients special physical or age-related needs. Assesses needs and provides COTA plan for services and direct treatment. The COTA functions as a member of the inter-disciplinary team.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Implement the occupational therapy treatment plan, regularly consulting with the Occupational Therapist regarding patient status and program through discharge
Modify and progresses the program in response to changing patient needs.
Provide safe and effective treatment procedures as appropriate for the patient/client age, condition, and diagnosis
Instruct patient/client and caregivers to assist in achieving treatment goals.
Terminate treatment as appropriate in relation to age/condition/diagnosis and functional performance/outcome expectations.
Communicate frequently and effectively in the professional environment with patients, caregivers, and others
Provide and maintain accurate, thorough, legible and timely patient related documentation, handwritten and/or computerized, in accordance with department policy and procedure.
Communicate frequently and effectively with others involved in the patient/client care regarding scheduling, treatment plans, progress and discharge planning
Demonstrate professional behavior and pursues professional development.
Maintain and enhances personal expertise through appropriate professional educational experiences
Maintain required hospital and department competency in environment of care, age-related care, CPR and other required system trainings
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to adjust daily schedule to meet service area demands and complete workload
Perform duties in compliance with departmental policies, procedures, timeliness, and productivity standards
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Degree in Occupational Therapy assistant program
Coursework/Training - May require specialized OTA training to meet a particular department need -OR- equivalent educ/experience
Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure is required.
Current BLS (American Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider) within thirty (30) days of hire
