Providence Health & Services Referral Operations Supervisor in Medford, Oregon

Providence is calling a Referral Operations Supervisor - General Administration (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Medford Medical Clinic Admin in Medford, OR. This position works standard business hours M-F.

We are seeking a Supervisor Referral Operations - PMG South - General Administration who will be responsible for the supervision of the daily operations of the PMG South referrals. This position supervises the daily activities of the referral operations staff, including scheduling and daily assignments. Coordinates the hiring process, provides orientation and training and works with individual staff on identified performance issues. Performs the annual performance reviews for the referral operations staff. Under the direction of the senior manager, acts as a liaison between the department and PMG South primary care clinics, specialist offices, and contracted health plans.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Monitor the daily activities within the PMG South Referral Operations department. Implements improvement activities. Work in conjunction with the other PMG South staff to provide trained and knowledgeable staff to resource the program

  • Supervise staff performance and developmental training including ongoing performance assessment and the development and monitoring of improvement plans according to PHS guidelines. Evaluate performance and initiates personnel actions according to PHS guidelines such as hiring, merit increases, periodic reviews, promotions, transfers between teams, and performance management.

  • Maintain policies and procedures in support of the Referral Operations Program, staying current with changes in Epic, and assures compliance with delegation agreements, Medical Home, Meaningful Use, and other regulatory requirements and communicates new processes to end users.

  • Develop and maintains training materials and workflows for the referral operations team. Maintains health plan information needed to process referrals in a readily retrievable format in order for the referral coordinator to process work correctly and in a timely manner

  • Monitor the Referral Operational program activities to assure that required referrals and authorizations are in place are within established timeframes.

  • Meet departmental goals, objectives and action plans. Establishes and meets program budget goals.

  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate department statistics, changes and developments. Facilitates team development, team function, and problem solving.

  • Provide production support as needed

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Two (2) years progressive leadership experience in managed care or clinic setting. Leadership experience defined as leading a project or team lead.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience in referrals (at least one of the following: referrals for office visits, authorizations for diagnostic imaging, authorizations for procedures)

  • Bachelor's degree
