Providence Radiology Technologist II in Mission Hills, California
Description:
Providence is calling a Radiology Technologist II, (Per diem Day shift) to Providence Facey Medical Foundation in Mission Hills, CA.
We are seeking a Radiology Technologist who will administer prescribed diagnostic x-rays; prepares patient room, equipment, supplies and contrast media for general diagnostic imaging; operates fixed x-ray equipment. Performs other associated functions such as clerical duties and film processing.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

Respect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of patients
Work in a safe manner, adhering to general safety precautions and standards. Report any unsafe conditions to their supervisor and/or the safety hotline
Adhere to standards, policies, and procedures adopted by the profession and regulated by the law
Assess factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medications, insufficient patient preparation or artifacts
Maintain appropriate credentials and certification related to clinical practice
Properly identifies patient and validates procedure order prior to starting the exam
Properly identifies all images with patient name, number, markers and develops film in accordance with standard practice
Select appropriate shielding devices
Determine appropriate type and dose of contrast agent to be administered based on the patients age, weight and medical/physical status
Instruct patients regarding preparation prior to imaging procedures, including providing information about oral or bowel preparations and allergy precautions
Ready patient for the exam, explains procedure, transfers patient on and off table and assists the patient at the end of the exam
Perform daily Quality Control Functions; warm-ups x-ray units
Turn on radiology laser printer and checks x-ray equipment is functioning properly
Perform computer and written documentation as required for procedure implementation or completion
Follow approved positioning techniques to minimize the patient’s discomfort during the procedure
Perform diagnostic imaging procedures with a proficiency level not to exceed 4.5% repeat ratio per procedure volume
Adjust to fluctuating workloads
Follow proper safety precautions:
Demonstrate proper use of protective equipment
Use proper body mechanics when assisting patients, moving equipment, etc
Follow infection control policies and procedures
Dispose of used products in the appropriate manner
Maintain current American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers and other appropriate licensure and certifications
Demonstrate commitment to education and sharing of knowledge:
Assist in the orientation of new personnel to the office
Obtain ongoing education consistent with level and area of practice
Maintain current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers and other appropriate certification
May be asked to serve as a preceptor to others. This will include but not be limited to:
Completion of 8-hour preceptor class
Orient and train new personnel or assist in re-orienting / re training existing personnel
Review appropriate checklist and monitor completion of specific areas
Help the orientee seek learning opportunities with a review of pertinent Policy and Procedure, observation skills, and checklist completion
Provide feedback to supervisor on areas completed and areas needing additional training
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Education to meet certification, license or registration
Current CRT license and American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers
Second modality license required - i.e., mammography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound
1 year experience in clinic or hospital environment
Preferred qualifications:
- ARRT registry
