Providence Revenue Capture Representative, Remote in Montana

Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Revenue Capture Coordinator to work remotely within our footprint states: AK, CA, MT, OR, TX and/or WA.

Under the general direction of the Manager Revenue Capture, the Revenue Capture Coordinator assumes the responsibility for the accurate and timely input of patient charges into the patient accounting system for multiple PSJH hospitals across multiple hospital regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews department clinical documentation from multiple sources and enters hospital charges accurately, timely, and in accordance with PSJH Charge Capture policies/guidelines, into Patient Accounting system(s) for multiple hospitals.

  • Learns and demonstrates proficiency in using PSJH Standard charge capture policies, rules, criteria and decision trees (algorithms) to assign the correct charge code.

  • Learns and demonstrates understanding of CMS Medicare billing rules and regulations related to: Emergency Dept. Level charges, Observation hourly charges, outpatient Intravenous Infusion administration Charges, Emergency Dept. procedure charges, HIPAA, and Fraud and Abuse.

  • Performs charge reconciliation on his/her accounts; checks charges for accuracy and completeness, corrects own errors.

  • Follows processes to send appropriate notification to other parties such as Coding Manager, ministry Clinical Dept. Manager, PFS, Case management. For example, notifies the Coding Manager of incomplete medical records or coding questions.

  • Attends scheduled meetings and trainings and is accountable for what has been discussed in staff meetings.

  • Assists in orientation and training of new staff.

  • Identifies events requiring administrative review and forwards these promptly to the appropriate Department Manager/Director

  • Review own work for accuracy and completeness prior to end of shift.

  • Perform daily charge reconciliation for the charges they entered on the previous day.

  • Meet productivity and quality goals/standards.

Required qualification:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED High school diploma or equivalent required Or equivalent education/experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Clinical training

  • 2 years Experience in clinical or healthcare disciplines such as previous Hospital or Medical office charge entry or medical records experience

  • Preferred upon hire: Certified Professional Coder, CPC or COC, CIC, CIRCC -AAPC

  • Preferred upon hire: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) - American Health Information Management Association

  • Preferred upon hire: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - American Health Information Management Association

  • Preferred upon hire: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
