Nursing Manager

Location: Napa, CA

Work Schedule: Full Time - 80 Biweekly Hours

Shift: 8-hour, Days

The Nurse Manager of a patient care unit or service maintains 24-hour accountability for the clinical leadership of staff. Responsible for overall personnel and fiscal management, clinical standards development, staff development, and the continuous improvement of activities within assigned areas. Through collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers and others, reviews, analyzes and recommends changes in practice to work toward achieving Queen of the Valley Medical Center's goal to become a Center of Excellence. Practice is in accordance with Joint Commission standards, State and Federal regulatory criteria, and professional practice standards. Proficiency is demonstrated in the required competencies. Performs all duties under minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years Relevant clinical experience.

  • Current California RN License.

  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification.

  • Trauma Center, 701100:

  • Collaborates with all levels of nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders.

  • Contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.

  • Promotes advancement of the profession through participation in professional organizations.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Trauma Center, 701100:

  • 5 years of nursing experience in Emergency Nursing.

  • Trauma Center, 701100:

  • Knowledge of current law and regulation relating to trauma practice.

  • Strong writing skills for writing/revising policies and procedures, education materials, reports, etc.

  • Ability to analyze, think critically, give constructive feedback and work in a team oriented environment.

  • Ability to develop and manage educational programs for staff members. Effective public speaking and presentation skills.

  • Effective interpersonal skills required for interfacing between all levels of internal and external customers, in order to objectively initiate program changes, improvements, and corrective actions, as necessary.

  • Strong organizational, facilitative, and conflict resolution skills. Skills and ability to effectively problem solve, handle multiple priorities and appropriately manage time.

  • Knowledge of computer systems and programs.

  • Understanding of systems-based causes of error and knowledge of shared accountability.

  • Trauma Center, 701100:

  • National certification in specialty area and/or professional certification in Nursing Administration or Management as approved by American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Magnet within 18 months of hire date.

  • Current ACLS certification.

  • Current PALS certification.

  • Current ATCN or TNCC certification.

  • ATCN Directorship.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

  • Leadership/supervisory experience.

  • Master's Degree in Trauma Center, 701100:

  • Nursing or related field.

  • Trauma Center, 701100:

  • 5 years or more of trauma nursing experience.
