Providence Health & Services Communications Director Well Being Trust in Oakland, California
Well Being Trust (WBT) – an affiliate of Providence St. Joseph Health - is seeking a dynamic new Communications Director to lead WBT’s national communication strategy, ensure robust media engagement and direct our social platforms.
While our office is located in Oakland, CA, we would prefer the successful candidate to be located in Washington D.C.
We are seeking a Communications Director to be a key strategic partner with executive leadership, leading internal/external communication efforts (public relations, reputation management, organizational communication, social media and executive communication) and delivering consistent, clear messaging to all Well Being Trust audiences. The Director is responsible for providing the marketing and communication strategy in support of WBT’s strategic priorities. The Director aligns communication efforts and initiatives across geographic regions, multiple programs and stakeholders and diverse business pillars and ensures the organizational voice and narrative of WBT are present in all communication efforts both internal and external.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Direct strategy, planning and execution for communication plans and programs, major organizational campaigns and initiatives related to public relations, reputation management, organizational communication, social media and senior leadership, Board, Advisory Council and partnership communication.
Proven ability to work independently writing, creating and implementing high-quality communication plans, messaging and copy that meets WBT standards.
Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to support and develop communication strategies, internal communication, executive communication, public relations, media relations, issues/crisis management, thought leadership and social media/influencer strategies to promote and enhance the reputation of WBT and our partners and programs.
Reinforce, enhance and grow the organizational voice and narrative of WBT through consistent, proactive communication sharing. Develop a strategic plan for positioning WBT leaders in the media so they are the go-to experts on mental health and well-being.
Work closely with partners and agencies to ensure consistent brand voice and messaging framework are consistent, clear and visible. Manage those relationships and ensure success over time.
Create and manage high performing, engaged team members through leadership and mentoring. Provide ongoing strategic communication counsel and support.
Manage, monitor and improve the delivery of information and messaging to all.
Work closely with marketing and communication leadership at Providence St. Joseph Health to coordinate messaging and positioning across audiences.
Perform and manage to organization budget and sustainability goals.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, Journalism, or related field.
7 years demonstrated senior management experience in leading broad-based and successful communication teams and programs.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Business or Public Administration.
3 years communication experience in health care.
