Providence is calling a Cardiovascular Technologist II (1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week Day Shift) to work in the Cardiovascular Lab Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.

The Cardiovascular Technologist will be under the direction of Cardiac Catheterization Lab Manager, Supervisor, and/or Cardiologist assists Cardiologists with diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
In this position you will:
Plan and arrange daily work load with supervisor and other personal
Facilitate communications and scheduling activities with patients, other hospital departments, and cardiologists
Perform procedure setups and patient preparations
Assist Cardiologists with diagnostic and interventional procedures, electrophysiology studies, pacemaker and ICD implants
Administer medications under Licensed Independent Practitioner’s (LIP) supervision in accordance with Washington State law and regulation
Administer and documents medications according to established procedures without repeated patterns of errors
Support duties performed are: maintaining patient records, scheduling patient exams, tracking/stocking inventory, QA testing/calibrating monitoring of equipment
Clean equipment and room/station areas in accordance with hospital BSI standards
Lab duties performed are: scrub, circulate and monitoring all procedures, setting up equipment, assisting in examination, observing patient care and safety procedures, and performing reporting and other tasks
Practice appropriate sterile techniques for all procedures performed in the cardiac cath lab including pacemakers and EPS
Operate equipment required for cardiac catheterization and electrophysiological procedures such as angioplasty instruments, surgical instruments, contrast pressure injector, hemodynamic monitor, IV pumps, stenosis and LV analysis software, digital imaging equipment
Perform hemodynamic calculations including valve areas and ejection fractions
Demonstrate proper and safe use of catheterization/EP lab equipment
Complete documentation in a timely manner
Assist in orientation and training of new employees and students
Mentor, trains and guides other employees in the procedures and processes of the work
Remain current in the field of invasive cardiology by reviewing periodicals, attending professional society meetings, and attending continuing education programs as appropriate
Demonstrate initiative in professional development and improving knowledge in the field of work
Provide care appropriate to the patient population
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Coursework/Training: Two years of community college/vocational training in a certified Cardiovascular Technologist training program and/or Radiological Technologist (RT)
Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), or Radiology Technologist Certification
American Heart Association - Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) at hire
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Coursework/Training: Interventional Radiology training
Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience
