The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator is responsible for the development, maintenance and education of the Emergency Operation Plan which provides for the needs of the organization and surrounding communities while facilitating integration of resources and services between public and private agencies during emergencies and disasters; and for the provision of facility support activities in all off main campus sites. This position has a strong working relationship with the Providence Southwest Region executive team and leadership at the assigned hospital or clinic group, Providence Centralia Hospital (PCH) Providence St. Peter Hospital (PSPH), or Providence Medical Group (PMG) requiring close interaction with administrators, directors, managers, physicians and community agencies to develop strong, effective and cooperative professional working relationships. In this position you will:
The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator is accountable for the following
Staff implementation of the four phases of emergency management (mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery) in collaboration with other key hospital stakeholders.
Staff implementation of emergency management across the six critical areas (communications, resources and assets, safety and security, staff responsibilities, utilities, and patient clinical and support activities), in collaboration with organizational disaster council.
Collaboration across clinical and operational areas to implement emergency management hospital wide
The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator is responsible for the following
Staff implementation of the four phases of emergency management (mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery
Staff implementation of emergency management across the six critical areas (communication, resources and assets, safety and security, staff responsibilities, utilities, and patient clinical and support activities.
Knowledge of and current experience and training in Joint Commission, OSHA, WADOH and other safety and emergency preparedness regulations
Trains management and line staff in emergency preparedness
Create and manage meeting agendas and facilitate effective group meetings
Develops and implements processes for monitoring and reporting the effectiveness of training
Ability to represent the organization professionally and build collaborative relationships with various public and community agencies or organizations.
Ability to collaborate with Administration, Managers/Directors and staff to address identified needs
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Science or Work experience in emergency/disaster management or safety may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Three (3) years Experience in emergency management or safety.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Education in emergency/disaster management
Experience in community mass casualty incident planning, domestic bioterrorism and emergency preparedness programs.
