Providence Medical Technologist - Microbiology in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a temporary Medical Technologist (1.0 FTE, Variable Shift, Full Benefits) in Microbiology to St Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
We are seeking a laboratorian to perform the essential laboratory testing that is critical to the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease.
In this position you will:
Plan, perform and evaluate routine and complex laboratory tests in your assigned department(s), which could include: hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, toxicology/special chemistry, microbiology, and/or immunohematology (blood bank).
Responsible for planning, performing, and evaluating laboratory testing analysis and quality control.
Maintain communications with physicians, patients, other hospital personnel, professional associations, and other organizations. Operate instruments and perform maintenance function checks and trouble-shoot.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Medical Technology or related field or achieved MLT status through an accredited MLT school, and subsequent completion of requirements to sit for MLS exam
Working knowledge of computer application software and LIS (Laboratory Information System)
American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) – Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or National Certification Agency (NCA)-Clinical Laboratory within 6 month of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Previous experience in Clinical Laboratory setting
