Providence Quality Support Specialist *Telecommute* in Oregon

Description

Quality Education Specialists provide monitoring and analysis of performance measures, productivity and quality indicators for all Access Services staff and review and develop solutions to complex problems with multiple departments and facilities.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree -or- equivalent educ/experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or three (3) plus year’s equivalent work experience in the health care field with strong patient registration and insurance/reimbursement knowledge.

  • Protect confidential/private information related to patients/guarantors, members, employees, and others.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including technical writing with the ability to communicate on both an interpersonal and technical level.

  • Mastery of standard business applications and desktop publishing software.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, preadmission, authorization, verification, insurance, reimbursement contracts and departmental/system policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of the legal aspects of Access Services, including state and federal regulations regarding patient access, living wills, organ donation, and other hospital responsibilities.

  • Understanding of Access Services’ potential positive or negative impact on the hospital accounts receivable, cash flow and bad debt processes.

  • Experience in self-directed activities, multi-disciplinary work teams both as team leader and team member

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in a Lead role

  • 1 year of microsoft Office with strong Excel and Access skills.

  • 1 year of in-depth understanding of Epic and its application to Access Services functions
