Providence Health & Services Senior Project Manager, Digestive Health Institute in Oregon


Providence is calling a Senior Project Manager- Digestive Health Institute to our locations in Renton/Seattle/Spokane WA, or Portland, OR

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager-Digestive Health Institute to be responsible for delivering business value through effective project leadership of one or more large and/or complex clinical project(s) such as clinical quality improvements, clinical Information Systems roll-outs, process standardization, and clinical supply chain standardization. The role is accountable for project planning, leading cross-functional project teams, identifying and obtaining resources needed, identification of major organizational process impact, and completion within constraints of scope, time, budget, and quality. Position provides leadership, strategic direction, work assignments, facilitation, communication, project structure/plans, and technical expertise. Change management planning will be a core focus to ensure successful implementation and excellent experience for caregivers impacted by the work.

The Senior Project Manager actively supports and incorporates the Mission and core values into daily activities and treats all others with respect and demonstrates excellence, justice and compassion in daily work. This role is part of the broader Providence St. Joseph system which provides enterprise strategic and operational focus to Digestive Health Institute priorities.

In this position you will:

  • Represent Providence St. Joseph Health Digestive Health Institute on cross-functional integration teams with other functional areas such as IT, Finance, Supply Chain, Clinical Analytics

  • Manage all aspects of large, diverse and complex programs in the areas of clinical quality improvement, clinical process standardization/optimization, clinical IS application roll-outs and upgrades, and clinical product and supply chain standardization.

  • Coordinate efforts with other clinical quality and practice initiatives and caregivers.

  • Act as an inspirational change agent for project implementations including current state and gap analysis, regional and local communication and training plans, and change management planning and execution specific to the needs of each region or ministry.

  • Lead all phases of clinical projects including business case, scoping and strategic planning, execution, and handover to operations. Manage risks, issues, project plans, and budget.

  • Develop high level roadmap and transition plans for complex projects. Identify key clinical and caregiver impact for projects.

  • Lead clinical process improvement activities. Drive continuous improvement and integrate industry best practices into overall integration work of people, processes and technology.

  • Facilitate large, complex meetings with system, regional, and Ministry level participants.

  • Communication with regional and local project members on all aspects of project leadership, facilitation, and process optimization.

  • Identify quality and retention metrics required for continuous process improvement, and partner with local region/ministry to develop and implement strategic plans to collect, report, and maintain data. Program design reflects utilization and analysis of metrics that support best practice and outcomes.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • 7 years Experience in a strategic project or program management role.

  • Demonstrated experience in complex project and program roles involving strategic planning and execution.

  • Demonstrated change management experience.

  • Experience facilitating complex decision making among multiple stakeholders with different interests and priorities.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration.

  • Experience with clinical projects.

  • Lean experience.
