seeking applicants for full-time
faculty positions in Immuno-oncology. We are seeking energetic, creative and
innovative individuals to complement a strong team of cancer immunologists. The
recruits will have access to state-of-the art laboratory
facilities in a translational research setting; state-of-the-art core facilities including flow cytometry, immunological
monitoring, multispectral immuno-histochemistry, bioinformatics and Next
Generation Sequencing. Physician scientists or basic scientists with strong
interest in immunology and translational research to improve cancer treatment
are encouraged to apply. Applicants must hold a PhD and/or MD (or equivalent)
degree in immunology or related discipline. Successful candidates are
expected to build and maintain a nationally competitive research portfolio and
be committed to training the next generation of researchers.
Providence is calling an Assistant Research Member (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.
In this position, you will:
Perform an advanced level of biomedical research to promote advanced research into cancer and is of critical importance to the research program at the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute within the Providence Cancer Institute.This role is equivalent to that of an Assistant Professor at an academic institution or university.
Exercise independent judgment with regard to the research conducted around a defined research area and take full responsibility for the results and their acceptability by the scientific community.
Be responsible scientifically and administratively for the activities conducted within the laboratory to include but not limited to; the design and analysis of research projects; collection and interpretation of data; grant and sponsored research preparation and submission; management of active grants and sponsored research; authoring scientific publications; management of laboratory staff including recruitment and performance management; and budget management.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) in the biological sciences or related discipline with proficient knowledge of immunology
5 years of biomedical research experience including 2 years of post-doctoral training
