We are seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician 1 - Technology Support Services Clinical Engineering Providence that will provide scheduled maintenance, minor repair and electrical safety inspection on general patient care medical equipment under the general supervision of the Biomedical Services Manager. Work assigned is moderate in difficulty with general training. Service are performed on, but not limited to, infusion device, vital signs monitor, compression unit and other like device at multiple location within Providence. The BMET I operate test equipment and other instrumentation in performing tests, inspection and repair, and is responsible for accurately documenting these service on designated form and within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Perform scheduled maintenance as assigned and complete the required documentation in the CMMS by the end of their next scheduled shift. Uses scheduled work order, manufacturer's literature and assistance from other BMETs, Senior/Lead Technician, or the Biomedical Services Manager.
Perform minor repair of medical equipment as assigned using manufacturer's literature and guidance from other BMETs, Senior/Lead Technician, or the Biomedical Service Manager and complete required documentation and entry in the CMMS by the end of their next scheduled shift.
Draw part form stock and place request for new part as needed. Help to maintain inventory stock level for equipment assigned through review with Senior Technician and Technical Coordinator.
Evaluate and prioritize work load to accomplish the best possible service given the resource at hand and provide feedback to the designated Senior/Lead Technician and/or the Biomedical Services Manager.
Analyze data and provide input to the designated Senior/Lead Technician and other BMETs on equipment issues discovered during testing in order to enhance department capabilities and coverage. Notification must occur within one week of discovery.
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Associate's Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics Technology OR equivalent educ/experience
Current driver's license.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- One (1) year Experience with patient care electronic medical devices at a circuit level.
