Providence Health & Services Child Life Specialist - Medically Fragile Children in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Child Life Specialist (0.6 FTE, Days) to Providence Child Center in Portland, OR.
The ideal candidate for this role has obtained a Child Life Specialist Certification.
This is a brand new role at the Child Center and there are only (4) other Child Life Specialist in the Portland Service Area.

In this position, you will:
Empower children for life’s challenges while providing high quality family-centered care as a part of a strong multidisciplinary team.
Provide psychosocial and developmental based assessment and support to both patients and their families.
Plan and provide emotionally and developmentally appropriate care that promotes effective coping with healthcare and continued cognitive and emotional growth.
Enhance the quality of patient care through participation, documentation and communication with other members of the healthcare team.
Serve as a resource and advocate on child development issues.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor Degree in Child Life or closely related field
Child Life Specialist certification within 6 months of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 1 year of work experience as a certified Child Life Specialist
