Providence Clinical Trials Assistant in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Clinical Trials Assistant - Medical Research (0.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.

We are seeking a Clinical Trials Assistant - Medical Research who will work under the supervision of the Regional Research Regulatory Manager, coordinating and organizing regulatory and contracts/budget documentation related to clinical trials studies. This includes, but is not limited to, processing of both electronic and hard-copy documents to facilitate communication between departments and maintain sponsor reporting requirements. Interacts closely with Regional Research staff (particularly Regulatory and Contracts/Budgets departments) as well as Clinical Research Team members.

Must uphold the standards of confidentiality, attendance and punctuality.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support Regional Research departments, specifically Regulatory and Contracts/Budgets, in the processing of clinical trial documentation, ensuring accuracy and optimal organization

  • Coordinate completion, ongoing maintenance, and distribution/communication of financial disclosure documentation for investigators on sponsored studies

  • Process safety reports for clinical trials

  • Be responsible for appropriate distribution of IRB approval letters

  • Be responsible for routing clinical trial contracts for signature and filing both electronic and hard copies for availability to appropriate parties

  • Be responsible for document management for all documents pertaining to clinical trials, both electronic and hard-copy, ensuring accuracy and availability to appropriate parties

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external personnel in coordinating regulatory process for clinical studies


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • High School Diploma -OR- equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft software applications (mainly Word and Excel) and demonstrated proficient computer keyboard skills, Internet document sharing programs/sites, and the use of technology in general

  • Two (2) years of document management or research experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Medical terminology, clinical trials, or clinical research experience
