We are seeking a Electrician - Facility Services that will be responsible for keeping the electrical system in the hospital operating safely and at peak performance through maintenance, repairs and making the required adjustments. This position is also responsible for new installations and renovation work. In addition to the Electrician duties, the person in this position will be responsible for some General Maintenance Engineer duties which includes operating and maintaining stationary and mobile mechanical, electrical, electronic, communications, air-conditioning, HVAC equipment and medical gas systems to provide heating, air-conditioning, steam, lights and power to the hospital. Insures the comfort, safety and security of patients, doctors and staff through a diligent, professional and cost-effective approach to maintenance, engineering and construction.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate electrical as-builts, riser diagrams and panel schedule

  • Maintain the electrical, physical plant, and applicable hospital equipment

  • Perform electrical safety inspection and perform electrical equipment PM's as per NEC and other codes

  • Respond to calls relating to electrical problems/issues with appropriate follow up and urgency

  • Assist in calibrating physical plant equipment and control devices

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on physical plant and hospital equipment.

  • Perform electrical install per customer request as allowed by journeyman's license

  • Assist in providing information and documentation for inspector and hospital surveyors

  • Immediately notifiy the Manager of Facilities of unsafe condition which require action on the part of the manager

  • Reviews and monitors new electrical construction by outside contractors to assure compliance with codes and hospital standards.

  • Maintain records and reports and complete all required paperwork.


Required qualifications this position includes:

  • Journeyman, inside electrical license

  • Experience with installing/troubleshooting systems controls and devices, computer applications, data base, and spread sheets.

Preferred qualifications for this position includes :

  • General Supervisor's electrical license

  • CAD experience

  • Experience with coordinating/overseeing small electrical construction project
