Providence is calling a LPN - Outpatient Wound Care (0.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR
Please note this is an on call resource position covering on average 4 - 8 shifts per months. Shifts are 10 hours 7:30am - 6pm Monday - Friday.
We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Outpatient Wound Care that will be under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, administers routine services in caring for selected acute, sub-acute, chronic and convalescent patients.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Administer personal hygiene, therapeutic measures/treatments and nursing care under the supervision of the RN and in accordance with Providence Portland Medical Center Department of Nursing Policies and Procedures
Report observation/information regarding patient condition or special needs to the registered nurse in a timely manner
Participate in identifying any spiritual, emotional and social factors which may require referral to other disciplines
Transcribe and administer medications in a safe/accurate manner according to the policies and procedures for medication administration
Perform selected IV functions under the supervision of the registered nurse
Maintain satisfactory attendance at nursing unit education programs
Attend nursing unit in-services/meetings and other
Understand and utilize existing lines of communication
Follow and reinforce the Teaching Plan as established by the RN
Document care given in a clear and concise manner using legible handwriting, correct spelling, and utilizing the currently accepted format and charting standards
Observe and document patient's progress toward outcomes established in Plan of Care
Comply with the dress code for Providence Portland Medical Center and the employee's department
Maintain current awareness of and complies with the Quality Management Program including awareness of unit indicators and participants as indicated
Assist other co-workers
Maintain good rapport by interacting in conflict or stressful situations in a manner that facilitates constructive resolution
Respond to criticism by effecting an appropriate change in behavior
Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with patient acuity system
Complete work assignments, documentation in a timely manner and requests help as necessary
Maintain knowledge and competency in use of computer system to document patient care, record information and ordering/charging supplies
Provide care appropriate to the ages of the patients served as identified by the assigned nursing unit
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Graduate of an approved school for practical nurse
Coursework/Training: IV Therapy course and competency demonstration
Currently licensed by the Oregon State Board of Nursing
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certified
