We are seeking a Manager Respiratory Care Services - Respiratory Therapy that will plan, organizes and directs the activities of Respiratory Care Services including Neonatal ICU, Pediatrics, Adult respiratory care and Pulmonary Function Testing. Be Responsible for development and implementation of on site operations which are integrated and consistent with the regional delivery system
On Site responsibilities: Provide leadership, management and direction for all services within Respiratory Care and Neuro-diagnostic Services. Coordinates operational activities of the department to achieve goals and objectives. Serves as a catalyst and mentor for motivating productivity, innovation, high employee morale, and commitment to the organization. Develops, monitors and effectively regulates departmental budgets, developing high quality and cost effective services.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Be responsible for hiring, developing, evaluating, and rewarding, counseling, disciplinary actions and terminations within areas managed. In addition, the continuing education and training of employees requires implementation of an educational program which is regularly scheduled and assures mandatory subject matters are covered annually
Provide services and programs that respond to and anticipate the needs of patients, medical staff, institution, region, and community
Develop revenue, expense, capital and minor equipment budgets, which establish sound financial structure and framework for the operation of respiratory services within the institution, in concert with regional services
Develop and implements regionally standardized methods for performing specified work through written policies, procedures, and protocols which interface with critical paths and optimize outcomes
Anticipate and plans for future conditions which may have an effect on Respiratory Care Services
Establishe specific objectives to be accomplished on a yearly basis
Organize services to accomplish regional and on site goals efficiently and effectively
Delegate appropriate responsibility and authority to subordinates creating accountability of tasks
Establish relationships within the community, region, hospital, and department conducive to the accomplishment of established goals
Provide an environment supportive of personnel which maximizes employee motivation, maintains and improves knowledge, skill levels and promotes positive working relationships
Develop and strengthens personnel through appropriate selection, appraisals, counseling, participation, and team building
Encourage attitudes, knowledge and skills supportive of the Mission Practicum
Establish and monitors performance standards and expectations in all services managed
Evaluate employees, in reference to standards and expectations, on a timely basis without delinquency, to determine retention, merit increases, promotion, and to provide feedback on their performance
Develop new concepts and imaginative approaches to the development of cost effective and appropriate utilization of regional and department services
Scrutinize the general operation and direction of on site Respiratory Care Services with the Regional Director, Medical Directors, the Medical Staff, and Hospital COO, on a regular basis
Establish and maintain good rapport with departments and units utilizing Respiratory Care Services
Control Respiratory Care Services by assessing and regulating work in progress and evaluating the measured results
Evaluate financial performance and productivity for each area of Respiratory Care Services
Take timely and appropriate actions to resolve discrepancies
Maintain personal and staff knowledge level through programs in continuing education
Comply with national and local regulations as well as accreditation standards
Develop and administers a quality improvement program to effectively uphold the level of services provided
Obtain approval through IRB process and coordinates research activities within areas of responsibility
Establish training classes, conferences and meetings on a regular basis
Represent department in critical care, management, multidisciplinary, nursery, information system and materials management conferences and meetings
Research new supplies and equipment for proposal and justification of purchase. Is active member of corporate Respiratory Care Resource Council
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or Respiratory Care
Licensed in the state of Oregon as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
Registration with the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
Ten (10) years or more years of Hospital experience in clinical respiratory care
Five (5) years of progressively responsible positions, which include human resource management, business management and program development
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master's Degree in Business or Health Care Administration.
