Providence is calling a Manager Technical Operations - Clinical Information Services (1.0 FTE, Days) to Prov Office Park Portland in Portland, OR. Core hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
We are seeking a Manager Technical Operations - Clinical Information Services that will provide leadership, oversight and planning for a team of business and technical professionals that support strategic clinical/operational improvement and growth projects within Providence Medical Group. Adapt and respond effectively to a constantly changing health care environment. Prioritize requests and assignments in response to changes.
Maintain technical knowledge in a rapidly evolving industry and as necessary to lead PMG's technical decisions.
Managing customer expectations in respect to services, deliverables, and timelines.
To provide for positive interactions with all parties, physicians, managers, external vendors, and other PHS departments, which results in a positive relationship and enhances program goals and objectives.
Assimilate, coordinate and reach regional consensus about technical strategies, solutions and products in support of the enterprise.
Define roles and responsibilities/division of labor between technical staff, employed groups, Physician Billing Office, Information Services, vendors etc.
Develop and implement key projects and strategies that require building consensus and creating a team environment.
Oversee and or manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining the ability to handle urgent needs as they arise.

In this position you will:
Provide central leadership in developing strategies, objectives, standards, policies, procedures and implementing best practices in providing technical strategy, direction and support to the Providence Medical Group.
Accountable for leading the development and definition of PMG's data security standards, framework and policies to ensure confidentiality and security of all information related to patients, medical staff, employees and, as appropriate, other parties.
Work with PMG leadership to assist with the development and delivery of technical solutions in support of PMG objectives.
Demonstrate knowledge of employed physician group business and activities in order to provide informed advice on technical solutions that will assist with business and patient care goals and strategies.
Manags identification and integration of complex new technologies and processes in order to maximize existing medical group technologies.
Manage systems development partnerships with Regional and System IS, external vendors, project teams, support departments and customers.
Ba accountable for documentation of technical standards and decisions, system design, installation instructions.
Direct leadership role in evaluating and recommending new and emerging technologies, and completing business plans/feasibility studies for new programs, products, and services.
Use estimation techniques to size the resource needs in PMG areas of responsibility within the technical team's work assignments; arrange for staff and other resource commitments accordingly.
Recommend, acquire, negotiate and coordinate external technical services.
Coordinate and participate in the redesign and process improvement for the PMG integrated system.
In conjunction with the Director of ISS, responsible for overall positive image of Providence Medical Group through the development of project plans and project execution, and participating on committees and task forces as delegated by Chief Operating Officer.
Support PMG leadership and the Director of Integrated Services and Support by participating in the strategic planning and development of long-term direction.
Be accountable for efficient and effective management of people and financial resources in department of responsibility. Prepares and manages the technical operations budget.
Be accountable to respond to changes in technology, market conditions and customer/patient demands.
Be accountable to oversee and maintain staff skills inventory and manage employee development plans.
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related specialty
8 years Healthcare-related experience in technical operations support, EMR and Practice Management Software implementation and support, Business Intelligence, and health services research.
3 years Direct experience and independent competence in using computer data/database management, reporting, statistical, and word processing software.
Experience with core computer operating systems, data security, relational database structure and applications, network administration, interface development and engines, query languages and reporting tools, decision support methodologies, and statistical software applications.
Experience managing user requirements, technical specifications and performance of software applications, preferably electronic medical record, practice management and disease registry software.
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
