Providence Health & Services Outpatient Therapist - Adult Psychiatry in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling an Outpatient Therapist to Providence Medical Group's Psychiatry West Outpatient Clinic at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.
The Providence Psychiatry Clinic West uses an innovative, patient centered approach which includes the use of the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy model of care. Our outpatient therapists provide both individual and group therapy.
This is an exempt position with salary based pay. The schedule for this position will be Monday - Friday. One night a week, the schedule will be 11 - 7:30pm to facilitate an evening group while the other days will be from 8:30am - 5pm.
In this position, you will:
Independently practice in an evaluation or treatment setting dedicated to evaluation and treatment of psychiatric and substance use disorders.
Collaborate with patient/support system in evaluating, diagnosing patients utilizing current edition Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and/or providing specialized psychotherapy services as described in Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) to reduce and /or resolve symptoms of psychiatric and/or substance use disorders identified.
Utilize established approaches and standards, complete assessment of patient risk to self and/or others, complete, and implement risk reduction/mitigation plans to ensure patient and community safety.
Incorporate evidence based approaches in psychotherapy including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and the Recovery Model.
Demonstrate effectiveness in assessment and diagnosis, including crisis evaluations, individual, group and family psychotherapy and multi-modal treatment settings.
Demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities of advanced social work practice and perform duties in a manner that respects patient self-determination, reduces health disparities/barriers to care, and adheres to the National Association of Social Worker (NASW) code of ethics, Standards of Practice (SOP), and the Providence mission.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master’s degree in Social Work from a Council of Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited school of social work, or from a school in candidacy status by the CSWE
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the state of Oregon
Licensure as an Licensed Independent Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Washington as needed based on work location(s)*
2 years of post Master’s experience in a behavioral health treatment setting
Certification to assess and implement a Directors Hold as delegate to Mental Health Authority within 6 months of hire*
For those in a dedicated Chemical Dependency treatment program, a CADC is required, or 60 hours of approved continuing education units (CEUs) in diagnosis and treatment of substance use disorders within one year of hire is required.*
*These are not requirements for this position.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Additional experience in substance use treatment setting
