Providence Senior Manager - Regional Respiratory Care in Portland, Oregon

Providence is calling a Senior Manager - Regional Respiratory Care to the Providence Office Park in Portland, OR.

We are seeking a Senior Manager Regional Respiratory Care that will develop, implement, direct and coordinates all Respiratory Care across the Oregon Region. Responsible for business plans, fiscal management and clinical and resource utilization. Works with nursing leaders and physicians to develop programs and provides managerial support for all assigned functions. Management includes directing the delivery of all educational, clinical and testing services provided in acute care facilities in collaboration with chief nursing officers. Responsible for leading and facilitating the Oregon Region respiratory care team in developing high quality and cost-effective services for all eight hospitals as appropriate.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Develop and implement the goals and objectives of the Oregon Region Respiratory Care Services in conjunction with key stakeholders (hospital and nursing leadership, inpatient and outpatient leadership, medical directors, managers and staff), which assures safe, efficient quality services
Develop an integrated process for preparing and implementing the three year strategic plan for Oregon Region Respiratory Care
Annually review and update strategic plan to reflect changing customer needs, operational improvement, strategic opportunities and regional objectives
Direct and participate in quality improvement efforts in all entities across the region
Encourage and support involvement of staff in coordinated quality improvement activities
Ensure the provision of quality respiratory care services by:
Developing and implementing regional quality improvement activities
Assuring compliance with accreditation requirements
Eliciting feedback from employees, physicians and patients and other clients regarding service satisfaction
Implementing appropriate action to effect change
Meeting safety/infection control standards to protect patients/clients, visitors and employees in all service environments
Supporting and enhancing employees expertise to maintain/develop knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes to promote excellence and quality outcomes
Ensure continued development and viability of respiratory care departments across the Oregon Region by:
Developing, coordinating and implementing new services that add value
Establishing and maintaining positive relations and communications with physicians, hospitals, outpatient services and community
Negotiating and administering multiple physician contracts
Coordinating services with various departments/programs
Representing Oregon Region respiratory care services accurately and effectively
Securing and coordinating research/studies to assure service quality and outcomes improvement
Creating and responding to opportunities for service development with physicians/departments/community/region
Enhancing personal expertise to stay current regarding services, trends and changes in health care
Negotiate and monitor strategic supply chain agreements
Coordinate all Oregon Region operations by:
Establishing and implementing regional policies and procedures
Establishing capital budgets and expenses
Monitoring quality control statistics and coordinating changes to meet standards
Leading and coordinating the Oregon Region respiratory care management team, providing essential information/direction for effective staff/service management
Monitoring, directing and negotiating contracted services including Medical Director contracts
Writing reports and providing communication in support of quality and effective service delivery
Developing and monitoring annual regional service objectives/standards and goals
Writing and administering business plans for expansion of services and facilities, growth and cost improvement
Traveling between all PHS facilities throughout the year to standardize and assure best practices within multiple services
Achieve and maintain efficient and cost effective respiratory care services by:
Establishing and promoting positive team problem solving to empower employees to act effectively to cause change
Promoting innovation to identify new system efficiencies
Developing and utilizing efficiency systems, such as decision support, that support stewardship priorities
Ensure optimum quality of work life environment for employees by:
Supporting employee professional growth, involvement and development
Providing a positive work environment that supports a productive team-oriented spirit such as recognition of outstanding service
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, business or other related field
Coursework/Training: Advanced education in areas of respiratory care services, human resources, business and quality management
Registration (RRT) through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Current professional license as required to practice in the State of Oregon
Current driver license
Ten (10) or more years of progressively responsible experience which includes at least seven (7) years managing respiratory care services in a large acute care facility
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master's Degree in Health Administration or Business Administration (with undergraduate degree in professional practice area).
