Providence is calling a Supervisor - Inpatient Pharmacy (1.0 FTE, Variable/Rotating) to Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR. This position will primarily work M-F 8am to 5pm but will also have a rotating on-call shift 1 weekend every month.

We are seeking a Supervisor, Pharmacy who will assist the Pharmacy Manager, Operations in coordinating daily organizational and operational activities of the pharmacy department to provide for a well organized and efficiently operating department. This position will also directly supervise Pharmacists and Technicians supporting Central Pharmacy Distribution and will be responsible for scheduling, training, counseling and evaluating these staff. This position will act as the pharmacist in charge in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Determine work load requirements and develops/advises work schedules for pharmacy staff to adequately meet workload demands.
Manage and supervise pharmacy staff involved with Central Pharmacy distribution. In this capacity, the incumbent interviews and hires personnel, develops performance standards and conducts annual performance appraisals, recommends merit pay increases, and initiates disciplinary action when appropriate. Acts as coach, trainer, advocate and problem solver. Engages in dispute resolution when appropriate.
Act as the pharmacist in charge in the absence of the Pharmacy Director and Manager.
Is a member of the pharmacy management team and participates in decision making involving the overall operations of the department.
Provide input for organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing work processes and procedures.
Evaluate existing programs and practices and makes recommendations for changes in order to improve services, increase efficiency, ensure quality or to maximize available technology, personnel and resources.
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Two (2) years experience working in a hospital pharmacy department.
Valid Oregon Pharmacist license.
Where applicable for the practice setting, become BCSCP (Board Certified Sterile Compounding Pharmacist) within three years of hire. Current caregivers will have 3 years to achieve
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency.
Supervisory experience OR five (5) years of pharmacy hospital experience
