Providence Health & Services Technical Lab Assistant 4 in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Technical Lab Assistant 4 (0.6 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence Office Park Portland in Portland, OR.
In this position, you will:
Be responsible for ensuring that core technical licensed staff have the ability to work at the highest level of their licensure by performing all essential duties within the core technical department that do not require licensure to perform.
Be responsible for the accurate and timely application of a variety of biomedical laboratory techniques including pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical specimen analysis and/or disbursement of laboratory data and patient results.
Monitor and maintain inventory supplies, maintain workflow and communication, and provide clerical assistance to the department.
Be responsible for a variety of instrumentation maintenance and general quality control checks for the department.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and competency with numerous Federal, State and other regulatory body compliance and safety regulations.
Have complex job duties that are evidenced by the performance of multiple tasks and use of computer applications.
Be expected to possess an understanding of the Providence Health and Services (PH&S) and the Oregon region Laboratory goals and strategies.
Perform all duties in a manner that promotes team concepts and reflects the PH&S mission, philosophy, and core values of respect, compassion, justice, excellence, and stewardship.
Required qualifications for this position include:
4 years of college with courses in biological sciences, anatomy and medical terminology, -or- combination of experience or training equivalent to this level of college coursework
5 years of industry related experience from an equivalent high volume, acute care laboratory performing high complexity testing, -or- a demonstrated high level of performance within Core Department as Lab 2 or 3, including competency in laboratory automation and complex specimen management
Demonstrated outstanding Service Excellence experience
Proven reliability and dependability
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Associate's or Bachelor of Science degree
Certification from an approved government agency or nationally recognized professional organization (American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT), etc.)
