Providence Health & Services Principal IS Project Manager PSJH in Redmond, Washington

Description:

Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Principal IS Project Manager PSJH to our location in Redmond, WA.

We are seeking a Principal IS Project Manager who will be accountable for diverse and complex Hospital/Clinical Construction projects that incorporate today's required IT infrastructure. Then we populate these builds with the network and compute equipment that our caregiver’s need to provide state of the art healthcare to our communities.

This person will be familiar with information technology, clinical informatics, data center infrastructure components, while meeting budget, strategic objectives, and Technology Integration goals. They will manage all aspects of projects with direct accountability to the real estate team, hospital staff, clinical caregivers and project leadership.

The Principal PM will oversee the intake assessment process as well as engage several IT teams that support the different aspects of information services. The individual will quickly build collaborative relationships with IT, real estate, and vendors in order to support the necessary resources for a project. The Project Manager is the primary point of contact between facility leadership and the resource managers of all IS teams and will require minimal supervision.

This position will primarily support the Providence enterprise in the Northwest including Oregon and Montana, as well as Washington.

We are looking for an experienced PM, someone with healthcare, construction, and IT infrastructure (conditioned space) experience. If you have two of these skillsets, we will provide you with the opportunity to master the third.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Strategic:

  • Develops projects within a program in alignment with the organization’s strategic plans and objectives.

  • Builds support to influence decisions in order to ensure work toward common objectives.

  • Proactively informs and influences others in order to maintain the balance required between business needs; project partner strategy and standards; and financial requirements and budgets.

  • Facilitates strategic planning with internal customers for deployment of information technologies and/or major services and products.

  • Management:

  • Manage client expectations from initial problem identification and through the project life-cycle.

  • Develop and gain sponsor approval and sign-off of the project charter / scope and / or work breakdown schedule.

  • Manage projects and programs with increased complexity, strategic priority and/or visibility, system and/or regional priority.

  • Develops and leads the project team to the delivery of successful project outcomes.

  • Engage and organize the assignment of activities of multi-functional teams, as well as the project estimates, task dependencies and schedule.

  • Builds and manages multiple, multi-functional collaborative project and/or work teams.

  • Coordinates the activities of multi-functional teams, as well as the project budget, task dependencies and schedule.

  • Scope, risk and issue management, including documenting, communicating and facilitating resolutions or mitigation plans.

  • Develops, initiates and manages a communication plan, including regular project status reports.

  • Delivers appropriate integration, training and implementation plans and activities.

  • Manages stakeholders and multiple project teams in the context of a single project.

  • Acts as a coach and mentor.

  • May be required to supervise or manage Project Coordinators.

  • Coaches, develops and manages other Project Managers for associated complex projects; facilitates customer needs for multiple

  • department and their associated lines of business.

  • Operational:

  • Develops root cause analyses and process improvement plans.

  • Maintains all project artifacts.

  • Identifies, delivers and documents organizational, application and human workflows that contribute to policy and procedure updates throughout each project.

  • Prepares and delivers presentations to executive leadership, senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, project management, healthcare admin or clinical field -OR- equivalent education/experience.

  • 8 years project management experience in healthcare, information services, or other relevant industry or operations leading large, diverse and complex projects.

  • 8 years project management experience in healthcare, information services, or other relevant industry or operations expertise and application of Project Management methodology based on project management principles.

  • 8 years project management experience in healthcare, information services, or other relevant industry or operations incorporating process improvement methodologies into large scale projects.

  • 8 years project management experience in healthcare, information services, or other relevant industry or operations facilitating complex decision making among multiple executive stakeholders with different interests and priorities.

  • Demonstrated experience as a speaker in a professional presentation environment, such as conferences and association meetings.

  • Demonstrated experience in business development and/or strategic and tactical planning and execution including marketing, communications and financial planning.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Information Technology, project management, healthcare admin or clinical field.

  • Project management.

  • Certifications in process optimization such as Six Sigma, Lean, CQIA or other nationally recognized program.

  • Project Management Professional designation (PMI) certification.

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (PMI) Certification.
