The CHRO – Growth will have accountability for creating measurable value through and for people across the organization. Specifically, the successful candidate will partner with the Executive Leadership teams to offer successful business solutions that improve health outcomes, contribute to an exceptional experience for caregivers and patients, and reduce the costs of care.
This is an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the customer-facing growth engines of one of the largest, values-driven health systems in the country, ultimately helping Providence achieve our vision of creating “health for a better world.” As the primary HR leader for these “growth engines,” this role will require an innovative, forward leaning, thought leader who can bring ideas to fruition and help the organization scale solutions with speed.
This role will directly and indirectly lead people strategies impacting over 15,000 internal caregivers and inspire a team of direct reports to bring their best to work every day and maximize value for the organization. The successful candidate will partner extensively with regional CHROs to ensure enterprise strategies and plans relate to regional needs and functional leaders to ensure value is being delivered within each line of business and across the continuum of care.
Acts as a business driver and workforce strategist for Providence’s accelerated growth strategies, including innovation, Population Health, ambulatory care, home and community care, and digital innovation
Understands the current & future landscape for talent and shapes creative, future-focused strategies to ensure we attract, develop, and retain a high performing and highly engaged teams
Partners across HR centers of expertise to ensure workforce systems, structures, and processes provide a competitive advantage and promote innovation and sustainable growth. This includes organic growth (speed to scale), acquisitions, unique partnerships & joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, etc.

Builds a high performing, highly engaged HR team, who feel accountable for Providence’s success; effectively leads in-person and virtual team members, across geography
Uses data to understand trends, predict needs, make decisions, and drive actions to support organizational outcomes. Ensure leaders have access to data & information required for innovation and growth
Serves as a key member of the HR Leadership Team and several executive-level operational teams, focused on driving and enabling innovative quadruple aim results (health outcomes, patient experience, affordability, inspired caregivers).
Experience supporting workforce strategies for start-ups, organizations seeking to diversify revenue or move into adjacent markets, and / or companies during periods of accelerated growth (speed to scale)
A growth mindset with experience leading teams in a high growth organization
Demonstrated capability in facilitating enabling partnerships, JVs, mergers & acquisition, or affiliations
Demonstrated ability to support teams focused on innovation, technology disruption, consumer segmentation, and disruptive growth
Proven success managing and engaging a team in a fast-paced environment
Proven experience identifying and driving change and building this capability in others.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to value and drive outcomes in a highly complex, matrixed organization amid transformation
Experience across for profit and not-for-profit sectors
Ability to challenge the status quo in healthcare, applying models from other industries to support speed, growth, and experience where appropriate
At least 8 years as a senior level HR leader (Generalist HR Executive Experience Required) and 12 years of progressive leadership experience, over multi-location, and multi-geographical locations, in organizations with more than 25,000 employees.
