Providence Health & Services Resident Services Assistant/CNA - Assisted Living * Hiring Bonus* in Seattle, Washington


Providence is calling a Resident Services Assistant/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) (1.0 FTE, Evening Shift) to Assisted Living Department in Providence Mount St. Vincent in Seattle, Washington.

The Resident Services Assistant/CNA will work under the direction of the Care Coordinator, assist residents with personal needs as stated in the agreed upon service pan. Maintains accurate documentation, and observes and communicates changes in mental of physical status.

In this position, you will:

  • Assist residents with personal needs as stated in the agreed upon service plan, including but not limited to: Dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting/incontinence care, laundry, transferring, and meal escorts.

  • Practice and support a resident centered model of care giving in all interactions, providing respect and dignity in all care-giving tasks.

  • Help residents with medication self-administration by reminding and coaching and provides medication assistance as agreed upon in the service plan

  • Perform light housekeeping such as making beds and changing linens, emptying trash, dusting, vacuuming, pick up of clothing, and emergency clean-up.

  • Observe residents for changes in behavior and habits; report changes to appropriate staff member for additional assessment and follow-up

  • Take and record vital signs as requested: As needed, take blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and perform appropriate follow-up


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) equivalent

  • Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Home Care Aide prior to employment. Non CNAs working in this job prior to January 6, 2012 are exempt from this requirement

  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or obtain within thirty (30) days of employment

  • Valid First Aid card upon hire or within thirty (30) days of employment

  • DSHS approved Dementia and Mental Health courses completed either prior to employment or within 90 days of employment

  • Experience with serving older adults in a care-giving role

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Community based experience

  • Six (6) Months experience with Dementia
