Providence is calling a Full-time Toddler Teacher to the Intergenerational Learning Center (ILC) at Providence Mount St. Vincent in Seattle, Washington. The classroom has 14 children and 3 co-teachers; we are looking for a loving, reliable, open-hearted teacher to join the team. We are a play-based and social/emotional focus program that puts relationship at the center of our work. In this position you will:
Be responsible for the overall care of children in the Intergenerational Learning Center. This includes the planning and implementation of an age-appropriate program, development of interesting, stimulating and challenging indoor and outdoor environment and planning appropriate daily activities.
Alongside colleagues, develop an intergenerational program and nurturing interaction between residents and children. Included in these responsibilities are maintaining the classroom, preparing materials for the children and certain clerical and record keeping duties.
Plan and implement the daily scheduled activities, indoor and outdoor environments and all other aspects of the children’s program; reflecting physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs.
Use appropriate interactive strategies per approved guidelines; For example: Using active listening, helping children learn to problem solve through negotiation and encouragement of child’s own thinking.

- Prior to first day of hire:

Apply for and complete a Portable Background Check through the DCYF (Department of Children, Youth and Family) MERIT system
- Within 30 days of hire, must complete a STARs Basic Child Care Center Certificate or equivalent as determined by program manager.

About the Team
Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.
HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses. Our core competencies include restorative care, longitudinal care and care through the end of life.
