Providence Health & Services Athletic Trainer *$1,000 Sign-On Bonus* in Spokane, Washington


Providence is offering a $1,000 Sign-On Bonus to external candidates hired for this position.

Providence is calling an Athletic Trainer (Athletic Training Program, Variable Shift, 0.5 FTE) to Providence St Luke's Rehabilitation Institute in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:

  • Assesses and provides appropriate injury prevention, management and rehabilitation to athletes within the guidelines of NATA.

  • Evaluates athletes and initiates appropriate treatment using accepted techniques in the school setting.

  • Communicates and advises frequently and effectively with others involved in the athlete’s care regarding scheduling, treatment plans, progress and participation status.

  • Provides and maintains accurate thorough, legible and timely patient and non-patient related documentation, handwritten or computerized in accordance with department and school district policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to adjust daily schedule to meet service area demands and cover special events as requested.

  • Performs duties in compliance with departmental policies, procedures, timelines and productivity standards.

  • Promote injury prevention by communicating with coaches and school personnel in identification of potential concerns.

  • Keeps informed of health care issues, changing department procedures, and other department information by attending staff/team meetings and or reading staff meeting minutes, e-mails and newsletters.

  • Provides a comfortable, orderly, clean, and safe work environment, securing appropriate supplies as necessary.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Clinical Supervisor, Team Physician, Coach and Athletic Director.

  • Meets productivity goals per department standards.

  • Attends and participates in patient care conferences when necessary.

  • Works within the guidelines of the National Athletic Trainers Association.

  • Pursues educational activities to maintain a current level of knowledge and competency.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Trained in concussion management

  • Washington State licensed or eligible

  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) certification for the Healthcare Provider or obtain within the first 30 days of employment

  • Completion of record check through the Washington State Patrol Criminal Identification System and through the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Record check shall include fingerprint check using Washington State criminal identification fingerprint card

Preferred qualification for this position include:

  • National Athletic Trainer Association (NATA) Certification

  • Recent applicable clinical experience

  • 2 years experience working in school environment as an athletic trainer
