Providence Hospitality Concierge in Spokane, Washington


Providence is calling a Hospitality Concierge (Emergency Services, Evenings, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:

  • Primary function is to ensure the comfort of all guests and provide the highest levels of service on behalf of SHMC and the SHMC Hospitality Group . Is a first-line patient/guest representative that provides "white-glove service" accommodations for every guest. Maintains a warm, sincere, compassionate and approachable demeanor throughout the work day. Coordinates multiple priorities and ensures timely delivery of goods and services to every guest. Provides information to patients, family members and guests for various services and personal needs such as, printer/copier/fax services, directions to areas of the hospital and local venues; hotel and and restaurant recommendations and reservations, arranges food deliveries from preferred partners, dry cleaning and spa services. Strictly observes all safety protocols and maintains a highly professional demeanor in every interaction.

  • Observe impeccable dress and appearance standards as outlined in SHMC Hospitality standards specific to this position. Must be approachable and pleasant when working with patients, family members, guests and fellow caregivers. Uses printed reports to determine priority of specific service areas and activities. Records all visits and interactions in an electronic log. Has the autonomy to act on behalf of SHMC to correct or support situations requiring judgment.

  • When requested by patients, their family and guests, provides verbal and written information, gives directions, coordinates services and other goods within the parameters of Hospitality division. Coordinates and conducts tours, arranges for transportation, whether it be patient transport, taxi, limosine services, provides suggestions for and arranges food deliveries. When required, will transport patients on occasion. Offers patients additional upgraded amenities for their comfort & convenience such as, robes, snacks, meal options, baby's first picture or other requested photo service, books, movies and games. Facilitates celebrations such as, birthdays, anniversaries and wedding arrangements and other celebratory events.

  • Inspect all public areas for cleanliness, orderliness and arranges for needed service to the appropriate department or call agency. Will offer each new admission a hospitality pack for their comfort. Will explain to each guest all services and schedules of service to be delivered during their stay. Takes appropriate action(s) to correct any discrepancy found during a visit. Investigate and follow through on any concern or questions a guest may have.

  • Learn all safety procedures to include, codes and isolation protocols and strictly observes. As trained, reports any unsafe condition or threat to the appropriate department or agency. Is familiar with evacuation plans/exits throughout the campus. This must respond to any SHMC or community crisis to support operations and patient care. Works in all weather conditions, slippery areas, possible biohazard exposure.

  • Attend daily huddles, department meetings and completes all required training. Stays current in local community events.

  • Must meet productivity and Quality standards

  • Desire for continuous learning

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks/priorities

  • Ability to walk 10 miles, or more, daily without assistance.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED in General Studies

  • Driver's License required upon hire

  • Two (2) years Full service hotel or restaurant position offering guests high levels of service of stay. Experience with customer service recovery, very good listening skills, very good verbal communicator, enjoys working with the public, can work independently and productively. Can organize and prioritize tasks with little supervision. Be courteous and friendly and can maintain a positive attitude in difficult situations. Very good problem solving skills. Can work in a fast paced environment and able to continuously walk and stand. Impeccable dress and appearance standards. Willing to work in an acute care hospital environment.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree OR Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Restaurant/Hotel Management
