Providence is calling a Medical Laboratory Technician (Lab Biochemistry, Evening Shift, 0.8 FTE, 32 hours per week) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Customer Service: Maintain and promotes positive, open and honest interpersonal relationships with customers (physicians, employees, visitors, patients, and other PSHMC publics). Provides high quality service to all customers; focuses on understanding customers’ needs and follows through. Demonstrates respect for the capabilities, different cultures and or personalities of co-workers and Medical Center publics within the mission/values of PSHMC
Communication: Promote and demonstrates effective, open and honest written and verbal communication skills

Ownership /Stewardship and Accountability: Demonstrate good stewardship of resources by treating property of customers, Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and co-workers with care and respect
Teamwork: Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of staff and other disciplines for problem solving without blaming

Continuing Education: Maintain and keeps current skills and knowledge for the job through continued education program
Quality Control: Analyze and evaluates quality control checks to assure accurate patient results
Teaching: Demonstrate procedures, instrumentation and techniques to train students and staff
Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement: Maintain ongoing and overall quality of the total testing process, relative to meeting patients and customers needs
Analysis: Perform a variety of diagnostic testing and follows established guidelines for the prioritization of work
Reporting: Evaluate testing results for accuracy and appropriate Intervention, performs computer data entry and maintains expertise with computer systems utilized for reporting results
Critical Values: Respond to critical values according to department protocol to assure patient safety and timely clinical procedures
Troubleshooting: Intervene to correct problems encountered when an instrument/test methodology fails
Maintenance: Perform instrument/equipment and reagent/supply maintenance functions
Laboratory Safety: Follow all safety guidelines outlined in the Laboratory Safety Manual and Departmental Procedures
Required qualifications for this position include:
Associate's Degree in related health sciences
Medical Laboratory Technician with National Certification or equivalent
If registry eligible, certification within one (1) year
