Providence Monitor Technician in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling Monitor Technician (Cardiac Rehabilitation, Nights, 0.7 FTE) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Customer Service: Maintain and promote positive, open and honest interpersonal relationships with customers (physicians, employees, visitors, patients, and other PSHMC publics). Provides high quality service to all customers; focuses on understanding customers’ needs and follows through Demonstrate respect for the capabilities, different cultures and or personalities of co-workers and Medical Center publics within the mission/values of PSHM
Communication: Promote and demonstrate effective, open and honest written and verbal communication skills
Self Management: Demonstrate self-management behaviors, which reflect a positive image of PSHMC, following established policies and procedures and promote an efficient, cost effective work environment
Ownership /Stewardship and Accountability: Demonstrate good stewardship of resources by treating property of customers, Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and co-workers with care and respect
Teamwork: Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of staff and other disciplines for problem solving without blaming
Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility by readily adapting to different situations to complete work
Perform select unit tasks/activities as assigned
Understanding of Monitor Technician role and responsibilities by consistently performing duties in a self-directed manner
Demonstrate working knowledge of equipment used in performing his/her assigned duties
Implement unit procedures regarding patient admission, transfer, and/or discharge from monitors in an accurate and timely manner
Constantly observe all monitors; never leaves monitors unattended
Post rhythm strips on all monitored patients according to unit standards Assure that each strip is labeled with patient's name, date and time
Inform patient's nurse and team leader of any significant rhythm changes
Update list of all patients and their cardiac rhythms, including any significant changes and concerns. This information is included in change-of-shift report by the team leader. Consults with team leader regarding rhythm "concerns" for each patient at the beginning of each shift
Required qualification for this position include:
- H.S. Diploma or GED
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- Complete classes or arrhythmia recognition and pass on arrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 85% and 100% on lethal arrhythmias
